Conversations From the Road: Keith Urban Behind the Scenes of New Together Forever World Tour

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 25, 2009) – One of the hottest tours of the summer season is Keith Urban’s Alone Together World Tour and Great American Country (GAC) is giving viewers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to put the entire production together on Conversations From the Road:  Keith Urban, Thursday, May 28, 10:00 pm/eastern on GAC.  This is the forth Urban special produced by the network.

With his new set as a backdrop, Urban sat down with host Nan Kelley during a rehearsal at an arena in Nashville and spoke of what remains a common thread that runs through all of his tours.  “I just want to find new ways to connect with everybody,” he explains.  “I want to be able to give a show that sort of covers all the senses.”  With 12 semis full of equipment and a crew of 60, no doubt Urban will accomplish just that.

Fans will also meet his personal guitar technician who cares for the 12 guitars that he plays each night, his production manager and several members of his band.

Urban also shares memories of his first big break – opening up for Brooks & Dunn – a memory that still serves as a reminder that every star was once an opening act.  As for the adjustments he has to make while on tour, it seems his sleep schedule is at the top of the list.  “The hardest part is flipping my schedule,” he says.  “I love going to bed early, we (he and wife Nicole) both do so we go to bed very early and get up very early.  It’s not a great way to tour but it’s a much better way to live.”

Beyond the hit songs, musicianship and high-tech gear, Urban knows what he wants to accomplish with his new tour.  “I hope that we can bring an enormous amount of positive energy and hope to the towns we play so that it isn’t just for the two hours [we’re there] but for the days after.”
